“This month I used to be flying throughout the nation on an extended five-hour flight, which I had booked and chosen seats for,” they wrote.

“I particularly selected an aisle seat in a row of two, so no center seat – simply the aisle and window.

“Effectively, a really overweight man boards and I can inform immediately he’s going to have a troublesome time becoming in any of the seats.

“I sit down and am pressed up towards him, making me uncomfortable.”

They confronted the passenger, saying that the state of affairs was unworkable. The person allegedly tried to tuck his arms in, however “was overhanging over the armrest a few quarter into my seat even when squeezing his arms in.”

“I informed the man, ‘Look, I’ll put up with this if you happen to give me $150 (£113) – that’s half the price of this flight and that may compensate me sufficient for the circumstances’.”

There have been sturdy reactions to the story on each side of the argument, with some condemning Bigbawluh’s actions as “fatshaming” whereas others have been satisfied it was a superb compromise.
